Biodigester is a specially designed fermentation tank for accelerated microbial degradation of organic waste using chemical treatments. The bio-digester for use in moving trains is made of stainless steel (SS) for under slung operation with provision of inlet for human waste and outlets for treated effluent and biogas. Bio-digester is provided with 06 partition walls inside the tank with poly grass mats bonded on the walls for protection of bacteria and to provide more surface area to accelerated biodegradation through longer path and continue to work during long journeys in different temperature regimes. This also results in odourless effluent, safe discharge of suspended particle matter, pathogens and is environmentally acceptable. It is applicable to western and Indian style toilets of mainline broad' gauge (BG) coaches of Indian Railways.

With the increase in production of coaches, requirement of water tank has gone up. Stainless Steel water tank made from 304 grade has been developed and implemented as an alternative to aluminium tank. Vaccum Evacuation System for Bio Toilet with Pan

The vacuum evacuation is designed in such a way that it sucks out the waste from each toilet with minimum use of water into the Biodigester tank installed under the carriage. The toilet system is isolated from the bio-tank to avoid bad odour in the passenger area.

Roof Mounted AC Package Unit
Air conditioning of the Railway Coaches is a priority requirement to provide a comfortable environment inside the coach for the passenger and driver travelling in a train. In LHB coaches, air conditioning i.e., supply of clean fresh air at a controlled uniform temperature is achieved by provision of two Roof Mounted Package Units (RMPU) in each coach. The proper upkeep and maintenance of these units is essential to ensure proper working during the journey of the train.

Fire suppressing equipment is based on the use of water mist to fight a fire. Accordingly, the fire suppressing system shall be a high-pressure water mist system. The fire suppression effect of water mist shall be due to the large total surface area of the droplets and the high rate of speed at which they shall turn to water mist, thus absorbing the energy of fire.

Bogie Bolster Arrangement
